Extract text from Packaging design files (MFG)
To convert MFG designs to another format, you need Motion Factory or other Compressed software.
To convert other file formats to the "Motion Factory Asset Archive" file type, you need software like Motion Factory or a similar tool.
.MFG files primarily function as Motion Factory Gear asset packs used by the Pixflow Motion Factory plugin for Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro. They store motion graphics templates, transitions, and video effects. Technically, these files are standard ZIP archives with a modified file extension. A secondary, but critical, use for .MFG files is as packaging design manufacturing files used by Creative Edge Software iC3D and Esko ArtiosCAD. These store 3D structural data for carton and packaging folding.
Users often face significant challenges with this format. The Pixflow asset packs trap files behind an unrecognized extension, confusing standard extraction software unless the user knows the structural trick. The packaging design variants are heavily proprietary, requiring expensive enterprise CAD software - often costing thousands of dollars - to view or edit. Web browsers and default operating system tools cannot render either variant natively.
To bypass these limits, the Motion Factory files should be converted or renamed to ZIP to extract the underlying MOGRT or AEP project files. For Esko CAD files, you must use the native software to export to standard CAD formats like PDF, DXF, or OBJ.
