To convert other file formats to the "Legacy System File" file type, you need software like WordPerfect or a similar tool.

About MEQ files

The .MEQ file extension generally represents a Corel WordPerfect Macro Editor Print Queue file. These are proprietary, internal system files generated by legacy versions of WordPerfect to queue macro commands. Alternatively, it can be a Metrics Equality file, which is a plain text configuration used by METRXPRS tools to map typography metrics in AFM (Adobe Font Metrics) files.

Converting a .MEQ file is difficult due to its highly specialized nature. The WordPerfect variant is a closed, undocumented binary format designed solely for internal software caching, not for user consumption. Standard document converters fail to process them because they lack a universal structure and require a specific legacy software environment. The font metrics variant, however, is plain text and can easily be converted to TXT or CSV.

If you lack the original software, do not rely on standard online converters. If our analysis detects readable text or embedded macro commands, we will extract them so you can save the contents safely as a modern format.

Convert.Guru analyzes your MEQ file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted WPM, WPG, WP6, MG, PPM and GM files.

The MEQ Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our MEQ converter.
