About MBL files

An .MBL file is a classic example of a "container lottery" - it usually belongs to one of three distinct, incompatible ecosystems, making it frustratingly opaque without the original software.

Most commonly, these files are DeedMapper bibliography lists used by genealogists and historians to store land patent abstracts and historical property records. Since DeedMapper is highly specialized software, sharing these files with clients or family members who don't own a license is difficult. The proprietary format locks the historical data away; converting these to PDF is essential for archiving or sharing research, while converting to TXT or CSV allows the data to be imported into modern GIS tools or spreadsheet applications.

Alternatively, in academic and scientific settings, an .MBL file may be a data log created by Logger Pro. These contain sensor data from physics or chemistry experiments (like temperature or motion graphs). Students and researchers often struggle to analyze this raw data outside the lab environment. Converting these logs to Excel (.XLSX) or CSV is the standard workflow to perform analysis in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

Finally, legacy versions of MYOB accounting software sometimes generate .MBL files that are actually just mislabeled PDF invoices. If your file won't open in the previous tools, it might simply be a document disguised by an obscure extension.

Convert.Guru analyzes your MBL file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted WEBP, MP4, DTC, BDG, TSS, WLL and SWL files.

The MBL Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our MBL converter.
