The .dtc extension is a classic example of a "filename collision," where multiple unrelated software vendors use the same three letters. Most commonly, a .dtc file is a DiskTrak catalog file used on older Macintosh systems to index disk contents, or a CADE network diagram created with the CADE 2D vector editor. Users also converted DCT, CSV, BIN, TXT, PDF, DXD, MC, DLY and HEX files.

The DTC Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our DTC converter.
