About MAN files

Users typically encounter the .man extension in three distinct, often frustrating scenarios, making it a highly ambiguous format. Most frequently, these are Windows Component Manifests (approx. 33% of cases) - internal system files used by Microsoft Windows to manage application configurations and assembly dependencies. While these are technically XML text files, the .man extension often prevents standard editors from recognizing them. Alternatively, in the developer world, this file represents a Unix Manual page (the source of the man command). These contain software documentation formatted with Troff/Groff, which appears as broken text with bizarre control characters when opened in Notepad or Word. Finally, certain download managers (like GetIntoPC) generate .man files that are actually disguised RAR or ZIP archives.

To resolve this, the conversion target depends entirely on the file's origin.

Users also converted MANS, 1, XAPK, SYS, ZIP, DLL, PDF, A, DSC and SCRIPT files.
