About LOOP files

A .loop file is primarily a Microsoft Loop component, a proprietary file type used within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Teams, Outlook, Word). Unlike standard documents, these are "live" Fluid Framework files that exist as synchronized, real-time canvasses for tables, lists, and collaborative notes. The core problem users face is that .loop files are strictly cloud-dependent; you cannot open them offline, and they are unreadable if moved out of OneDrive or SharePoint. If you download a .loop file and try to send it to a client without M365 access, they will see an error. To share or archive this content, you must convert the component to a static format like PDF (for archiving), DOCX (for editing in Microsoft Word), or HTML (for web viewing).

Less frequently (approx. 8%), a .loop file may be a legacy Apple Loop audio file used by Logic Pro or GarageBand. These are typically audio snippets containing metadata for tempo and key matching. Users with these files often need to convert them to standard MP3 or WAV formats to use them in other DAWs or media players.

Convert.Guru analyzes your LOOP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted WAV, ZIP, WTC, PND, DDI, PDF, VIDEO, MIDI and MARKDOWN files.

The LOOP Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LOOP converter.
