About LMD files

The .LMD file extension is most commonly a Flow Cytometry List Mode Data file. Scientific instruments manufactured by Beckman Coulter use this format to store cell characteristics measured during flow cytometry analysis. Alternatively, .LMD files act as application plugin modules for AutoPlay Media Studio, or as specific 3D models and data archives for games like Pokémon Masters EX, League of Legends, and Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune.

Opening these files usually requires highly specialized, expensive software like FCS Express or the original proprietary game engines. This makes the .LMD format incredibly restrictive. A flow cytometry file contains raw, binary data that cannot be read by standard spreadsheets or web browsers. Without an active software license, scientists cannot easily share their raw data with peers. Game data variants are equally closed, locked behind proprietary compression or encryption schemes meant to prevent unauthorized extraction.

When dealing with data sharing, converting an .LMD flow cytometry file to an open standard like FCS or CSV is the best path forward. For plugin modules, which are often just renamed EXE files, extraction to ZIP might be necessary to view the internal structure. For game models, users typically want to convert to OBJ or FBX.

Because .LMD files are closed, proprietary, and span multiple completely different industries, standard online converters almost always fail to process them. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a recognized underlying embedded format - like standard GZIP compression in arcade game variants - viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your LMD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted TST, TTP and VTX files.

FAQ

If you want to convert LMD file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use FCS Express or similar software from the "Flow Cytometry Data Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to LMD, try FCS Express or another comparable tool in the "Flow Cytometry Data Storage" category.

The LMD Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LMD converter.
