About LEVEL0 files
The .level0 file is a compiled scene data archive used by the Unity game engine. It typically contains the initial boot scene, such as the main menu or the first playable level in Unity-developed games like The Room. Internally, it holds serialized references to 3D models, textures, audio clips, and scripts that the game engine requires to load that specific environment.
Because it is a compiled, proprietary game asset, a .level0 file is exceptionally difficult to handle. It is not intended for end-user editing. The file is heavily dependent on shared asset archives (like sharedassets0.assets) located in the game's data folder. You cannot open it directly in standard 3D modeling software, and ironically, you cannot even open it in the Unity Editor without utilizing specialized reverse-engineering tools like AssetStudio or Unity Asset Bundle Extractor (UABE).
Users typically attempt to convert .level0 files to extract 3D geometry or raw textures for modding, archiving, or translation purposes. Standard online converters completely fail to process it because the internal structure changes drastically between different Unity engine builds. The most practical conversion targets are FBX or OBJ for 3D meshes, and PNG or DDS for texture maps.
This is a closed, proprietary format. If our analysis detects supported underlying or embedded text or hex data, viewing or extraction may still be possible even when full conversion fails.

The LEVEL0 Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LEVEL0 converter.
