About KINE files

A .kine file is a project package created by KineMaster, a highly popular mobile video editing application. It acts as a container that stores video timelines, applied effects, text overlays, audio tracks, and transitions used during mobile video production. Underneath the hood, the file uses standard ZIP compression to bundle XML configuration files alongside the raw media assets.

Users typically want to convert .kine files because they are entirely proprietary and unreadable outside of the app. The primary disadvantage of this format is that it is not a playable video. It cannot be uploaded to YouTube, shared on social media, or opened in standard media players like VLC. Furthermore, because KineMaster is a mobile-first platform, there is no official desktop software to natively open these project files on a PC or Mac, which heavily limits professional multi-device workflows.

The ideal target format for a finished project is MP4 or MOV. However, to achieve this, you must render the video directly inside the mobile app. If you simply want to recover the source media without the app, the best target is a ZIP archive, which allows you to extract the raw video clips and images to use elsewhere.

This file format is exceptionally difficult to convert online. Standard video converters fail because they look for encoded video streams, whereas a .kine file contains only timeline instructions and scattered media pieces. Only the original KineMaster rendering engine can properly read the timeline data and export the final video. Despite this, convert.guru can still identify the file format and inspect the file. Just drag and drop your file to see what it is and convert it if supported. Since our analysis detects the underlying ZIP format, extracting the embedded raw media assets is still possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your KINE file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted MP4, KMPROJECT, KIN, JPG, PDF, APK, BIN, XAPK, PNG, JPEG, TXT, ZIP and ASPX files.
