Convert a file to KCP
To convert other file formats to the "Earthworks Project File" file type, you need software like Kubla Cubed or a similar tool.
About KCP files
A .kcp file is most commonly a project file created by Kubla Cubed (formerly Kubla Cut-Fill), a specialized software for calculating earthworks cut and fill volumes. These files serve as containers (often ZIP-compressed) holding site plans, topography data, and calculation rules. Users typically need to convert these files because they are proprietary and cannot be opened by standard CAD tools like AutoCAD or viewed by clients without the specific software installed.
To share this data, you must use the native software to export reports to PDF for printing, or export technical drawings to DWG and DXF for engineering teams. The file data can also be exported to CSV or XLS for spreadsheet analysis.
Less frequently, a .kcp file may be a knitCompanion project used by knitters to track patterns on iOS and Android devices. These files lock the pattern PDF and user annotations (counters, highlights) into a format that is difficult to view outside the knitCompanion ecosystem. The only practical conversion workflow is to use the app's 'Print' or 'Export' features to generate a flattened PDF.
Convert.Guru analyzes your KCP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert KCP file to MP4, AVI, MOV, WMV, FLV, WEBM, MKV, M4V, 3GP, OGV, ASF or RM, you can use Kubla Cubed or similar software from the "Earthworks Estimation Project" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MTS, MOV, RMVB, DIVX, RM, H264, TS, WMV, VOB, MP4, XVID or AVI files to KCP, try Kubla Cubed or another comparable tool in the "Earthworks Estimation Project" category.
The KCP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our KCP converter.
