Convert JMX to another file type
To convert your JMX file to another format, you need Apache JMeter or other Developer software.
Convert a file to JMX
To convert other file formats to the "XML Test Configuration" file type, you need software like Apache JMeter or a similar tool.
About JMX files
A .JMX file is most commonly an Apache JMeter Test Plan, a script used by developers to load-test web applications. Because these files are raw XML, they are unreadable to stakeholders and cannot be "run" without installing the heavy, Java-based Apache JMeter software. Users often need to convert these test plans into PDF or HTML reports to share results with non-technical teams, or to JSON/YAML for easier version control diffing.
Alternatively, in an educational context, a .JMX file is a "Jumbled Sentence" exercise created by Hot Potatoes (specifically the JMix tool). Teachers cannot send this source file to students; it must be converted to HTML (Web Page) so students can solve the puzzle in their web browser without needing the proprietary authoring software.
Convert.Guru analyzes your JMX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert JMX file to PDF, YAML, HAR, CSV, TMP, TEMP, CACHE, LOG, BAK, OLD, NEW or PART, you can use Apache JMeter or similar software from the "Web Load Testing Script" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DEVICE, CACHE, SOCK, SYMLINK, PID, MOUNT, FIFO, LOG, PIPE, TMP, JUNCTION or TEMP files to JMX, try Apache JMeter or another comparable tool in the "Web Load Testing Script" category.
The JMX Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our JMX converter.
