The .IVT file format is a proprietary Beyond 20/20 Table used to disseminate complex, multidimensional statistical data. It is widely utilized by government organizations like Statistics Canada to distribute census and economic data. To open these files locally, users typically rely on the legacy Beyond 20/20 Professional Browser.
Users frequently need to convert .IVT files because the format is severely outdated and extremely restrictive. It requires a specific Windows installation, completely excluding Mac and Linux users. Furthermore, .IVT files cannot be imported natively into modern data science environments like Python (Pandas) or R.
