About ITF files
The .itf file format is highly fragmented, serving multiple niche enterprise and specialized industries. Primarily, it functions as a Product Label Design File created by Markem-Imaje CoLOS software (utilizing UTF-16 LE encoding) for printing barcodes, use-by dates, and traceability data. It is also widely recognized as an INTERLIS Geodata Transfer file for Swiss geographic information systems, and as an SAPscript Form Label Template in SAP ERP environments (encoded in UTF-8). Minor uses include Sygic GPS Navigation itineraries and South African tax certificate data files. These highly specialized formats present significant limitations for everyday users. A CoLOS or SAPscript .itf file requires proprietary, expensive enterprise-level software to open and edit, creating a hard block when trying to share label mockups with clients or external vendors. INTERLIS files are strictly tied to Swiss GIS standards and cannot be natively rendered by global GIS platforms without dedicated conversion plugins. To bypass these strict compatibility blocks, conversion is highly recommended. For reviewing label designs or SAP templates, convert your .itf to PDF or PNG to ensure barcode layouts and proprietary fonts remain visible on any device. For geospatial data exchange, convert INTERLIS .itf data to XML or SHP for broader software compatibility. Drop your file here to view and convert it securely right in your browser.

The ITF Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ITF converter.
