The .HTRI file is a specialized heat exchanger design file used exclusively by the HTRI Xchanger Suite. Engineers use this format to store thermal and hydraulic simulation data for industrial heat exchangers.
This format is highly proprietary and presents a major disadvantage for collaboration. Opening a .HTRI file requires an active, expensive enterprise license for the HTRI software. It is not supported by standard web browsers or generic document viewers. When clients or vendors receive these files without owning the software, they cannot access the engineering parameters inside.
Users typically need to convert .HTRI files to standard formats like PDF for reading simulation reports, or CSV and TXT to extract raw thermal data.
