Convert HTR to another file type

To convert HTR Data files to another format, you need Motion Analysis or other Data software.

Convert a file to HTR

To convert other file formats to the "Measurement & Motion Data" file type, you need software like Motion Analysis or a similar tool.

About HTR files

.HTR files serve two entirely distinct and specialized purposes: industrial heat treatment measurement and 3D motion capture animation.

In the industrial sector, .HTR files act as Heat Treatment Measurement Data files, generated by equipment from Heatmasters Oy. These files log critical temperature metrics over time during metallurgical processes. In the entertainment and gaming industries, .HTR represents Hierarchical Translation Rotation data, a motion capture format developed by Motion Analysis Corporation. It stores skeletal animation sequences by defining the structural hierarchy of bones and their precise movements (translation and rotation) frame by frame.

Standard users face significant challenges with .HTR files because they are highly proprietary and niche. Heatmasters files require expensive, closed-ecosystem industrial software to analyze, making them useless to clients or managers lacking a license. They often need to be converted to CSV or PDF simply to share reports. Similarly, motion capture .HTR files require complex 3D suites like Autodesk Maya or Blender to parse and visualize. Standard online converters fail entirely at processing these files because they cannot interpret the proprietary mathematical mappings or industrial sensor logs.

Because these formats are notoriously difficult to open natively, your best workaround is to inspect the raw data. Just drag and drop your file to identify the format, view it, and convert it when possible on convert.guru. Since motion capture .HTR files are often structured in ASCII text, our tool can extract the underlying text or internal content. If our analysis detects a supported embedded format, viewing or converting to universally accepted formats like BVH, FBX, or TXT may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your HTR file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted HTML, TFT, VIS and GPX files.

FAQ

If you want to convert HTR file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use Motion Analysis or similar software from the "Specialized Data Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to HTR, try Motion Analysis or another comparable tool in the "Specialized Data Storage" category.

The HTR Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our HTR converter.
