About HO files

The .ho file format serves highly specific industrial and scientific purposes. In roughly 62% of cases, it acts as a set-top box firmware component developed by ALI Corporation. It is also utilized as a Header Object file associated with Hewlett-Packard Graphics Language (HP-GL). In scientific research, it functions as an X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometer analysis data file, generated by specialized hardware from Rigaku Corporation, Olympus, and Thermo Fisher Scientific via their Omnic software.

These files are highly proprietary and heavily hardware-dependent. Firmware .ho files are undocumented binary blobs, making them completely unreadable outside of specialized flashing tools. Spectrometer .ho data files lock your scientific results behind expensive, proprietary software suites. Sharing this raw data with colleagues who lack the correct physical spectrometer or the requisite software license is impossible. Standard web browsers and basic text editors cannot natively render the embedded data.

Ideally, scientists need to convert spectrometer .ho files to CSV, TXT, or XML to process the data in Microsoft Excel or Python. However, because this is a closed, proprietary format, standard online converters fail to process it. Often, only the original analytical software can properly read or export the structured data. We bypass standard converter limits to inspect the file and show raw text or internal hex content. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or data extraction may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your HO file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted H0, XRF, VTX, ISR and VMS files.

FAQ

If you want to convert HO file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use Omnic or similar software from the "Firmware and Spectrometry Data" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to HO, try Omnic or another comparable tool in the "Firmware and Spectrometry Data" category.

The HO Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our HO converter.
