To convert other file formats to the "Character Modeling" file type, you need software like Adobe Fuse CC or a similar tool.
About FUSE files
A .fuse file is primarily a 3D character project created by the discontinued Adobe Fuse CC (formerly Mixamo Fuse), or a hardware preset for Fender Mustang amplifiers.
For 3D designers, the .fuse format poses a significant workflow bottleneck because Adobe ceased development of Fuse CC in 2020. These are proprietary project files, not standard 3D meshes like OBJ or FBX. To use the character in engines like Unity or Unreal Engine, or to rig it in Blender, you generally need the original software installed to render and export the geometry. Without the original application, these files are effectively dead data.
Alternatively, if you are a guitarist, this file is a preset configuration for Fender amplifiers using the legacy Fender FUSE software. Since Fender ended support for this platform, users often struggle to visualize their amp settings on modern operating systems. Converting these presets to PDF or plain TXT allows musicians to archive their tone settings and manually dial them into the physical amp, bypassing the compatibility issues of the defunct software.
Convert.Guru analyzes your FUSE file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert FUSE file to OBJ, FBX, DAE, 3DS, MAX, BLEND, MA, MB, C4D, STL, PLY or WRL, you can use Adobe Fuse CC or similar software from the "3D Character Project" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DWG, DAE, X3D, IGES, WRL, JT, SKP, 3DS, 3DM, OBJ, STEP or FBX files to FUSE, try Adobe Fuse CC or another comparable tool in the "3D Character Project" category.
The FUSE Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our FUSE converter.
