Convert a file to FMX
To convert other file formats to the "Oracle Form Module" file type, you need software like Oracle Forms or a similar tool.
About FMX files
A .FMX file is predominantly a Compiled Oracle Forms Module used by Oracle Forms to execute enterprise database applications. Less commonly, it functions as an FME Custom Transformer file for Safe Software FME or a Claris FileMaker plug-in.
As a compiled binary file, the .FMX format presents severe limitations for average users. It is proprietary, completely locked down, and requires a specific Oracle runtime environment to execute. You cannot simply open it in a text editor, a web browser, or standard office software.
Users often need to convert .FMX files back to their original FMB source code format to edit the application logic. However, this reverse-compilation is notoriously difficult and usually impossible without specialized, expensive decompilation tools that often fail to recover all data. Converting an executable into a standard document format like PDF or DOCX is illogical, which is why standard online converters fail to process it. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your FMX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert FMX file to DLL, SO, DYLIB, BUNDLE, PLUGIN, XPI, CRX, SAFARIEXTZ, APPEX, KEXT, SYS or DRV, you can use Oracle Forms or similar software from the "Compiled Executable Form Module" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert LV2, DYLIB, VST, AAX, DRV, TDE, LADSPA, BUNDLE, AU, DLL, RTAS or SO files to FMX, try Oracle Forms or another comparable tool in the "Compiled Executable Form Module" category.
The FMX Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our FMX converter.
