About JSX files

The .JSX file extension has two distinct primary uses. First, it serves as a JavaScript XML source file heavily used by the React library to write HTML-like UI components directly inside JavaScript code. Second, it is used by Adobe Systems for ExtendScript, which automates complex workflows in applications like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.

The main disadvantage of .JSX files is their execution dependency. React .JSX files are entirely proprietary syntax and cannot be executed natively by web browsers; they must be transpiled into standard JS using build tools like Babel. Adobe .JSX scripts face a different limitation: they require a licensed, resource-heavy installation of the Adobe Creative Cloud suite to run, and sometimes they are compiled into binary format (JSXBIN), making them completely unreadable in standard text editors.

For web execution, convert React .JSX to standard JS or TS (TypeScript). For archiving, code review, or documentation, convert your scripts to TXT or PDF.

Convert.Guru analyzes your JSX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted JSXBIN, TSX, TXT, JS, PDF, HTML, ZIP, CODE, DOCX, JSV, JPG, BIN and CSS files.

The JSX Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our JSX converter.
