To convert other file formats to the "Encrypted App Container" file type, you need software like ES File Explorer or a similar tool.
About ESLOCK files
A .eslock file is a proprietary, encrypted container created by the Android app ES File Explorer. It is used to lock user files, such as photos, videos, or documents, behind a PIN or password. Users typically encounter these files when they have used the app's 'Hide' or 'Encrypt' feature to secure sensitive data on their mobile devices.
The format presents severe disadvantages today. It is entirely proprietary and relies on 256-bit AES encryption. In 2019, Google banned the ES File Explorer app from the Play Store over adware and click fraud concerns. This left millions of users stranded with locked .eslock files and no official, safe way to unlock them. You cannot open this file on Windows, macOS, or standard web browsers. It requires the original mobile app and the correct password to revert the contents to standard targets like JPG, MP4, or PDF.
This file format is exceptionally difficult to open or convert. Because it is securely encrypted, only the original software holding the correct encryption key can properly read or export the data. Standard online converters fail completely because they cannot bypass cryptographic locks. Our system will inspect the file headers, identify the format, and attempt to show internal metadata. If our analysis detects an unencrypted embedded thumbnail or a supported underlying format, viewing or conversion may still be partially possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your ESLOCK file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert ESLOCK file to BASE64, HEX, BIN, ENC, CRYPT, AES, DES, RSA, PGP, GPG, ASC or KEY, you can use ES File Explorer or similar software from the "Encrypted Mobile File Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert CER, BIN, PEM, DER, KEY, P7S, PFX, ENC, P12, BASE64, P7B or HEX files to ESLOCK, try ES File Explorer or another comparable tool in the "Encrypted Mobile File Storage" category.
The ESLOCK Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ESLOCK converter.
