About CMI files

The .cmi file extension is predominantly used as a bank statement export generated by French banking networks, specifically Crédit Mutuel via their CyberMUT portal and CIC via FilBanque. These files encapsulate transactional data intended for personal finance management. Alternatively, .cmi files serve as 3D laser measurement project files created by the Leica DISTO Plan app, or as Compiled Module Interfaces in the OCaml programming language. The primary disadvantage of banking .cmi files is their proprietary nature. They cause severe vendor lock-in because standard web browsers and popular global accounting software like QuickBooks or Xero cannot read them natively. Users are forced to rely on specific French financial software to decode their own transaction data. The Leica variant presents a different hurdle: it acts as a container, hiding raw CAD data behind a specialized extension. To make banking data useful, convert the .cmi file to CSV, OFX, or QIF for seamless import into modern accounting tools, or convert to .PDF/A for read-only tax archiving. For Leica measurement files, the conversion target is typically extraction to ZIP to access standard DXF floor plans.

Convert.Guru analyzes your CMI file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted JPG, VTK, PHC and TSL files.
