About CFP files
The .CFP file extension represents a highly fragmented category of files. Its primary uses are as an electronic form document created by CSoft Form Pilot or as a packed game archive utilized by the CryENGINE game development platform. Other software, such as CrossFire (for crossword puzzle XML data), URUSoft Subtitle Workshop (for custom subtitle definitions), and legacy Deep River CAD tools, also utilize the .CFP extension. This extreme fragmentation makes the .CFP format a nightmare for end-users. A .CFP file from Form Pilot requires specialized, paid software to view or print, making it virtually useless for web distribution or sharing with clients. Similarly, CryENGINE .CFP files are closed, proprietary archives that standard extractors like ZIP or RAR tools cannot parse. Subtitle Workshop uses them for custom format definitions, which limits broad media player support. If you want to share a Form Pilot document, you must convert the .CFP to PDF. If you have a CrossFire puzzle, exporting it to PUZ or TXT is highly recommended. Because this format is essentially a black box that varies wildly depending on the creator software, standard online converters fail to process it. It is a closed, proprietary format where often only the original software can properly read or export the data.
