About CEX files
The .CEX file format is notoriously fragmented. Primarily, it is an Energy Efficiency Certificate file generated by the Spanish government's CE3X program. However, it is also widely used as an Electrochemical Experiment Data File by Zahner-Elektrik and Arbin Instruments, or as a vault export file by SolidWorks PDM. The major disadvantage of the .CEX format is this extreme lack of standardization. A .CEX file created by battery testing software will completely crash an energy certification program. These files are highly proprietary, lack native web browser support, and require specialized software to view. Because stakeholders cannot open them, conversion is usually mandatory. For energy certificates, convert to PDF for sharing and printing. For electrochemical data, convert to CSV or XLSX for analysis in spreadsheet tools.
