About CD2 files

The .cd2 file extension serves multiple specialized purposes. It is primarily used as a Belgian domiciliation collection file by the Febelfin banking system for direct debit processing. Alternatively, it acts as a CD/DVD label design file created by legacy software such as Stomp Click'n Design and Avery Click'N Design 3D. It is also utilized as an HMI configuration database file by Red Lion Controls Crimson 3.0. The main disadvantage of .cd2 files is their fragmentation and obsolescence. The label design variant relies on the proprietary Microsoft Compound file structure and requires outdated 32-bit software that often fails on modern operating systems. The financial and HMI database variants are strict, closed-loop formats. Attempting to open them in standard text editors or spreadsheet tools usually results in unreadable characters or data corruption. Users typically need to convert these files to regain access to trapped data or designs. For label designs, exporting to PDF or JPG is best to preserve the visual layout for modern printing, though editable layers will be lost. For banking and HMI databases, extracting the raw data to CSV or XML is preferred for auditing, though the original software logic is left behind. Because .cd2 is a closed, proprietary format, standard online converters consistently fail to process it. Only the original software can reliably interpret the data. However, you can drag and drop your file into convert.guru to identify its exact format version and inspect the contents. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format - like a hidden image or plain text string - viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your CD2 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted C2D, MMO, LPF, ISF and CD1 files.
