About BPD files
The .BPD extension is a fragmented format identifier shared by several distinct software ecosystems, most notably BizInt Smart Charts and BarahaPad.
For roughly a quarter of users, a .BPD file is a bundled report generated by BizInt Smart Charts, used heavily in the pharmaceutical and IP industries to organize patent and drug pipeline intelligence. These files are technically renamed ZIP archives containing tabular data and images. The primary friction here is accessibility; stakeholders without a licensed copy of the software cannot view the intelligence reports. Converting these to XLSX (for data manipulation), HTML (for web viewing), or PDF (for static archiving) is essential for cross-departmental sharing.
Another major use case (approx. 20%) is BarahaPad, a word processor for Indian languages. In this context, the .BPD file often acts as a wrapper for Rich Text (RTF), storing bilingual documents. Users struggle with these files when moving between computers that lack the specific Baraha fonts or encoding support. Converting to standard DOCX or UTF-8 Text ensures the script remains readable without proprietary tools.
Legacy use cases include Business Plan Pro files and Autodesk MEP project databases. These proprietary binary formats are notoriously difficult to open on modern operating systems (Windows 10/11) without the original, often discontinued, software. For these, conversion to PDF is the only reliable method to salvage the text and financial data for archival purposes.
Convert.Guru analyzes your BPD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted BPF, JPG, PBD, PNG, BMP, PDF, EZD, EXE, SOC, STA and PCS files.
The BPD Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our BPD converter.
