About SOC files

The .SOC file extension is primarily associated with League of Legends game data cache files or LibreOffice XML color palette files. In League of Legends, it stores temporary game state data to speed up loading times. In LibreOffice and Apache OpenOffice, it stores custom color definitions (RGB and HEX values) formatted as plain XML. Other enterprise systems, such as GE Digital CIMPLICITY and the PrefLib database, use .SOC to store SCADA class configurations or social choice preference datasets.

Users often struggle with .SOC files because their contents are heavily fragmented across completely different applications. League of Legends cache files are proprietary, closed binary files designed solely for the game engine. They offer no native export options and are useless outside the game. Conversely, LibreOffice color palettes are accessible, but you must manually parse the XML if you want to use the colors in external design software like Adobe Illustrator.

If you have a color palette .SOC file, the best conversion targets are standard design formats like XML, ASE (Adobe Swatch Exchange), or TXT. Game cache files generally cannot be converted into usable media formats. Because multiple completely unrelated programs use the exact same file extension, standard online converters often crash or corrupt the output when trying to process a .SOC file. If our analysis detects a supported underlying data structure like an XML color palette, viewing and conversion into universal formats may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your SOC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted PCS, RIT and BPD files.
