Extract text from BlindWrite data segments (B02)
To convert B02 data segments to another format, you need BlindWrite or other Disk Image software.
To convert other file formats to the "Split CD/DVD Backup" file type, you need software like BlindWrite or a similar tool.
The .b02 file is a split CD or DVD data segment created by BlindWrite, a legacy optical media backup tool developed by VSO Software. When copying a large disc, the software splits the raw image data into smaller chunks to fit onto older file systems with strict size limits, such as FAT32. A typical backup set includes a descriptor file (usually B5T or B6T) and sequential data chunks named B00, B01, and .B02.
This format is highly proprietary and fundamentally obsolete. Because a .b02 file is merely a partial slice of a larger disk image, it is useless on its own. It requires the parent descriptor file and all preceding segments to function properly. It is not supported by modern web browsers, and native Windows or macOS tools cannot mount it. Relying on this format locks your data behind older, abandoned software ecosystems, making long-term storage a significant risk.
The best conversion target is a standard, unified ISO file, or extracting the raw contents directly into a normal folder structure. Merging these segments requires specialized CD image utilities like IsoBuster or UltraISO, which can read the master descriptor file and stitch the .b02 segment back together with the rest of the image.
Standard online converters fail to process .b02 files because they lack the context of the full multi-volume set and do not support this closed, proprietary format.
