A .PR0 file is a configuration profile primarily associated with Saitek (now owned by Logitech) game controllers, such as the X52 or X56 H.O.T.A.S. systems. These files map physical controller inputs - buttons, switches, and axes - to keyboard keystrokes, mouse clicks, or complex macros, allowing flight simulation enthusiasts to customize their hardware behavior. Internally, the file often utilizes UTF-16 (LE) text encoding, which stores command strings and assignments in a structured format readable by the Saitek Smart Technology (SST) software.
The main drawback with .PR0 files is their dependency on legacy drivers and the specific SST programming software, which can be unstable or difficult to install on modern operating systems like Windows 11. Because the file is proprietary to the driver suite, users cannot easily view their button mappings without launching the profiler.
