About PR0 files

The .PR0 file format is a hardware configuration profile created by legacy Saitek and Logitech programming software. It stores custom keybindings, joystick axes mappings, and macros for PC gaming peripherals like HOTAS flight sticks and gamepads. Originally managed by the Saitek Smart Technology (SST) Programming Software, these files trap your complex macros inside an obsolete, proprietary ecosystem. Users frequently need to convert or extract data from .PR0 files because the original SST software is notoriously buggy on modern Windows systems and requires annoying workarounds to function. Furthermore, modern Logitech G HUB software does not natively import these legacy files. The most practical conversion targets are TXT, XML, or CSV to safely back up the mappings as readable text. This file format is difficult to convert directly into modern profile formats because the data structure is highly specific to Saitek hardware drivers. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the hardware commands. However, because .PR0 files are typically encoded in standard UTF-16 (LE), convert.guru can easily bypass the proprietary wrapper.
