About B00 files

The .B00 extension represents two completely different file types, often causing confusion.

  1. BlindWrite Disc Image Segment: Most commonly, this is a split archive created by BlindWrite or Daemon Tools. In the mid-2000s, large CD/DVD backups were often chopped into smaller pieces (like .b00, .b01, .b02) to fit on FAT32 hard drives or smaller media. These files are useless on their own; they are merely raw binary chunks that require a companion control file (usually B6T) to function. Users typically encounter friction because modern operating systems (Windows 10/11, macOS) cannot natively mount or open these fragmented proprietary files.
