About B00 files
The .B00 file extension is primarily used for two distinct purposes: storing digital tachograph vehicle data generated by VDO hardware, or acting as the first chunk of a split CD/DVD disk image created by VSO BlindWrite. It is also occasionally used for process data logs generated by ABB ScreenMaster recorders or for Qualcomm firmware images utilizing the ELF executable format.
To natively open these files, users must rely on specific environments: specialized fleet management software for VDO tachograph logs, VSO BlindWrite or Daemon Tools for disk images, or proprietary engineering software for ABB process logs.
Users frequently encounter limits and need to convert these files because the current formats are highly restrictive. A .B00 tachograph file consists of locked, proprietary raw data that fleet managers ultimately need in readable spreadsheets to audit driver hours. Meanwhile, a split BlindWrite .B00 file is heavily compressed and impossible to mount on modern operating systems without third-party tools. Without the master index file (like a B6T), a .B00 image chunk is completely useless.
The ideal target format depends entirely on the source data. Disk images should be merged and converted to standard ISO files to guarantee broad compatibility across modern operating systems. Tachograph and process logs are best extracted into CSV or XML formats. Note that converting a split image requires access to all subsequent parts (e.g., B01, B02) to prevent catastrophic data loss.
Because .B00 files are closed, proprietary formats or fragmented raw binary chunks, standard online converters typically fail to process them. Often, only the original hardware software can properly read or export the data. Our system can identify the file format, inspect the internal hex structure, and show underlying text. If our analysis detects a supported embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your B00 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted BOO, IMG, B01, _00_, J00 and JOINED files.

The B00 Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our B00 converter.
