About JOINED files
A .joined file is typically a recombined data file created by file splitters like HJSplit, a legacy freeware utility developed by Freebyte. It is used to merge smaller file chunks (usually ending in 001, 002, etc.) back into a single continuous file.
The primary disadvantage of the .joined format is that it acts as a generic placeholder. It completely masks the actual underlying file format. Operating systems cannot open it because .joined is not a standard media or document extension. Users are left guessing what software is needed to view the content.
You generally do not convert a .joined file in the traditional sense. Instead, you must identify its true internal format and rename the extension (for example, changing .joined to MP4 for video or ZIP for an archive). Once renamed, no actual conversion is necessary unless you want to change the underlying media type.
Because it is an arbitrary extension containing raw binary data of an unknown format, standard online converters will immediately fail to process it.
Convert.Guru analyzes your JOINED file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The JOINED Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our JOINED converter.
