The .AXT extension is a polysemous filename most commonly associated with AutoCAD Color Books. These files are essentially proprietary containers used by AutoCAD to store custom color collections (Pantone, RAL, or user-defined sets) ensuring consistent color reproduction across CAD drawings. The main limitation for users is that .AXT files are not image files or standard palettes; they are specific XML-based definitions that software like Adobe Photoshop or web browsers cannot natively read.
