Extract text from Agile PLM files (AGL)

The .AGL file extension is highly fragmented and serves four completely distinct purposes, making it frustrating for users to handle. Primarily, it acts as an Agile PLM Data Export file generated by Oracle Agile PLM. Enterprise teams use this format to bundle complex product lifecycle data, Bills of Materials (BOM), and CAD attachments. However, .AGL is also used for dog agility course maps by Clean Run Course Designer, PLC project data inside Siemens TIA Portal, and game data configuration for The Sims 4 using Another Game Library (AGL).
The biggest disadvantage of the .AGL format is its ambiguity. Without knowing the source, standard operating systems cannot open it. Furthermore, these files are tied to highly specific environments: Oracle Agile exports require expensive enterprise tools, Clean Run maps require niche desktop software, and Siemens TIA files are locked into massive industrial automation suites.
Conversion depends entirely on what the file actually is. For Oracle Agile exports, the .AGL file is often just a ZIP archive in disguise. You can rename the extension to ZIP to extract the internal XML data and attachments. For Clean Run course maps, you will want to target PDF or JPG, but standard online converters fail to read the proprietary vector data.
