About Z1 files
A .Z1 file is most frequently the first volume of a split compressed archive created by WinZip. Users encounter these when handling large datasets that have been segmented to bypass email attachment limits or file system constraints (like FAT32). The critical problem with .Z1 files is that they are useless in isolation; they are merely one fragment of a larger puzzle. To access the data, you must possess the entire sequence (e.g., Z2, Z3) and the master ZIP file in the same directory. Without the complete set, extraction fails, resulting in crc errors or "unexpected end of archive" messages. Alternatively, a .Z1 file may be a 3D design project from i3DOne (IME3D), a simplified CAD tool for education. These proprietary files are not compatible with professional tools like Blender or AutoCAD directly. For archives, the goal is to reassemble them into a standard ZIP or extract the contained DOCX, PDF, or images. For 3D projects, users typically need to convert the .Z1 model to STL or OBJ for 3D printing and universal editing.
Convert.Guru analyzes your Z1 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted Z01, PNG, ZPX, ZND and ZNC files.

The Z1 Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our Z1 converter.
