About WCP files

The .WCP extension primarily represents a proprietary project file used across several unrelated industries, most notably as a video editing project in legacy software like Canopus WinProducer or Windows Movie Maker, and as a PLC programming file in Wecon PLC Editor. A major disadvantage of the .WCP format is its extreme fragility. Because it is a project file, it does not store actual media, executable code, or compiled logic. Instead, it holds proprietary instructions, timelines, and absolute file paths. If you move or delete the original raw assets on your hard drive, the .WCP file breaks completely and displays missing media errors. Furthermore, it is a closed format strictly locked to the specific software version that generated it, often requiring discontinued software to access. You cannot simply convert a .WCP video project directly into an MP4 or AVI video using a standard online converter, because the file completely lacks the raw video data needed to process the conversion. Often, only the original software can properly read, render, or export the data. Despite these severe limits, you can just drag and drop your file to convert.guru to identify the format, view it, and convert it when possible.
