About VRX files
The .VRX extension covers two distinct, incompatible file types that often confuse users. The most common variation (44%) is a Virtual Report eXtended file generated by Vetor Visual Pontto and Ponto Secullum software. These are proprietary data files storing employee timekeeping records, payroll logs, and attendance reports. Because they are designed exclusively for specific Brazilian time-clock systems, they cannot be opened by standard office software like Microsoft Excel or text editors. Users typically need to convert these locked reports into PDF for archiving or CSV/XLSX for payroll processing to bypass the need for the legacy software.
The second common type (34%) is a 3D asset file used by the Viro Media AR/VR platform (ViroReact). These are optimized, often zlib-compressed 3D scenes compiled from formats like FBX or OBJ for mobile Augmented Reality applications. Developers frequently struggle with .VRX files because they are a "destination format" - meant for runtime display, not editing. If you are migrating away from ViroReact to engines like Unity or Unreal Engine, you need to convert these proprietary assets back into standard OBJ or GLTF formats. A third, less common variant is an XML-based diagnostic report from ActiveReports, often used by Daimler/Mercedes-Benz for vehicle data, which can sometimes be viewed in a simple text editor.
Convert.Guru analyzes your VRX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted JPG, PDF, 20, TLV and YPF files.

The VRX Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our VRX converter.
