About VNS files
The .vns extension acts as a wrapper for several disparate proprietary formats, most notably iClone 3D scenes, VN Video Editor projects, and AISIN navigation data.
For 3D animators, a .vns file is typically a scene file created in iClone by Reallusion. It contains character models, lighting, motion paths, and texture references. The frustrating part here is proprietary lock-in; these files are not universal 3D formats like OBJ or FBX. You cannot drag a .vns file directly into Blender or Maya. To collaborate or archive, users must open the file in iClone and perform an export to a standard interchange format.
In the mobile content creation space, .vns represents a project file for VN Video Editor (VlogNow). These are often ZIP-compressed archives containing raw clips, edits, and effect metadata. A common misunderstanding is treating this file as a playable video; it is merely a recipe. To get a shareable MP4 or MOV, the project must be rendered within the app.
Less commonly, this file is a navigation data binary for AISIN transmission systems or car navigation units, which is practically useless outside specific hardware environments. For best results, identify the source software first: convert iClone scenes to USD or FBX for 3D workflows, and render VN projects to H.264 video for web use.
Convert.Guru analyzes your VNS file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert VNS file to JS, TS, PY, JAVA, CPP, C, CS, PHP, RB, GO, RS or SWIFT, you can use iClone or similar software from the "3D Scene & Video Project" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert SH, PY, KT, PS1, SWIFT, LUA, PL, JAVA, SCALA, JS, VBS or TS files to VNS, try iClone or another comparable tool in the "3D Scene & Video Project" category.
The VNS Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our VNS converter.
