About VDOC files

A .VDOC file is primarily known as a Vector Drawing Document used by Vectre VDraw or a Virtual Document generated by VisualDoc Converter. In the professional sign-making industry, it is widely recognized as a VinylMaster Document developed by Future Corporation. These specialized files serve as master project files containing editable vector graphics, text, and precise cutting paths intended for physical signs, banners, and decals. To manage or modify these files, you need specialized software like VinylMaster (available in Cut, Letter, Professional, or Expert editions) or legacy tools like VisualDoc Converter. The main disadvantage of the .VDOC format is its strictly proprietary, closed nature. While it perfectly preserves complex design layers and vinyl-cutter-specific paths, it is completely inaccessible outside its native ecosystem. You cannot open a .VDOC file in standard web browsers, basic image viewers, or even industry-standard design tools like Adobe Illustrator. This locks you into the original software, creating massive friction when you need to send a mock-up to a client or a final design to a third-party print shop. To make the design usable for others, you must convert it to a standard vector format. The best conversion targets are EPS, PDF, or SVG. These formats universally retain crisp, mathematically defined vector paths and can be opened on virtually any device. However, you will likely lose proprietary vinyl-cutting commands, blade pressure settings, and specific application macros embedded in the original project file. Because .VDOC is a closed, proprietary format, standard online converters fail to process its internal data. Usually, only the original software can properly decode and export the cutting paths. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your VDOC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted EPUB, DJVU, AZW3, CHM, FB2, MOBI, PDF, JPG, UNKNOWN, EMB and AAE files.

The VDOC Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our VDOC converter.
