About VAS files
A .VAS file usually functions as a Video Auto Splitter script used in the speedrunning software LiveSplit, or as an Inverter/Charger Assistant configuration file for Victron Energy systems. Some users will also encounter .VAS files as Visma account statements output by Visma.net Financials, or as 3D architectural projects from VA Virtual Architecture.
These files are deeply integrated into their respective, isolated ecosystems. For instance, Victron files require the highly specific VEConfigure software to read the inverter parameters. Visma files rely on enterprise financial software. Users often need to convert these files because they are completely inaccessible without the original software. A speedrunner cannot easily view the image assets inside a LiveSplit script without extracting it, and an accountant cannot share a Visma statement with a client if it remains locked in an obscure wrapper.
The best conversion targets depend entirely on the file's internal structure. Visma files should ideally be converted to PDF or CSV for readable reporting. LiveSplit .VAS files are often just renamed ZIP archives containing scripts and images, which means the contents can simply be extracted to standard image formats.
Because .VAS files lack a universal standard, traditional online converters almost always fail to process them. They are proprietary, closed formats, and often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. Despite this, convert.guru can still identify the file format, inspect the file, and show text or internal content. Just drag and drop your file to see what it is and convert it if supported. If our analysis detects an underlying format like ZIP or XML, viewing or conversion is highly probable.
Convert.Guru analyzes your VAS file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert VAS file to MP3, WAV, AAC, FLAC, OGG, WMA, M4A, AIFF, OPUS, ALAC, APE or WV, you can use LiveSplit or similar software from the "Configuration & Script Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MIDI, AAC, TTA, AU, WV, DTS, MID, FLAC, RA, MP3, PCM or WAV files to VAS, try LiveSplit or another comparable tool in the "Configuration & Script Storage" category.
The VAS Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our VAS converter.
