About VAS files

The .vas file extension primarily represents a Video Auto Splitter package used by LiveSplit, a widely used speedrunning timer. These files are technically standard ZIP archives containing a bundle of reference images (PNG), a logic script (ASL), and a structure definition (XML). Speedrunners and developers use this format to package game profiles that automatically split the timer by analyzing the video feed for specific visual cues. Users often need to convert or unpack .vas files to edit the underlying Auto Splitting Language code or update image assets when game visuals change.

In industrial contexts, .vas refers to an Assistant Configuration File used by Victron Energy for their inverter/charger systems. These settings files are managed via the VEConfigure tools to automate hardware behaviors. Less commonly, Visma financial software uses .vas for XML-based account statements. Because the primary LiveSplit format is just a renamed ZIP, the most pragmatic conversion method is often renaming the extension from .vas to zip to access the internal files without specialized software.

Convert.Guru analyzes your VAS file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted GPX, SAM and STAT files.
