About UXF files

A .UXF file is an XML-based Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagram created by UMLet, a popular open-source tool for fast diagramming. These files store visual layouts - such as class diagrams, sequence diagrams, and flowcharts - as plain text XML code, describing elements, coordinates, and relationships.

While the text-based nature of .UXF files makes them excellent for version control in systems like Git, they pose significant challenges for sharing and presentation. A .UXF file cannot be opened natively in web browsers, standard image viewers, or document editors like Microsoft Word. Recipients must install UMLet (which requires a Java Runtime Environment) or use the web-based UMLetino just to view the content. Furthermore, printing raw XML is useless.

To share your diagrams effectively, you should convert .UXF files based on your end goal:

Convert.Guru analyzes your UXF file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted XUF, PDF, UML, PNG, DFT, TXT, XML, SVS, ASC, JPG, PUML, GZ and APK files.
