About UVR files

The .UVR file extension is highly fragmented, serving four completely different purposes. Most commonly, it is a Reinforcement Detailing Data file used by Urban Vision Rebar to store structural engineering elevator and rebar data. Secondly, it operates as a Spectrophotometer Report file created by Shimadzu UVProbe or UVWinLab software to store UV-Vis (Ultraviolet-Visible) spectroscopy measurements. Additionally, legacy users might encounter .UVR as a VRML panoramic image file from the discontinued Ulead COOL 360, while gamers see it as a game asset archive file for the Illusion Koikatsu Sunshine game.

Because these are strictly proprietary formats, users face significant disadvantages. .UVR files are locked to their specific ecosystem. A Shimadzu lab report requires a costly software license to open, and engineering rebar data cannot be natively viewed in web browsers or standard CAD tools. Ulead COOL 360 is obsolete, making panorama recovery incredibly difficult on modern operating systems.

When possible, users need to convert .UVR spectroscopy reports to CSV or PDF for data sharing and publication. Engineering rebar data typically needs conversion to DXF or standard TXT. Legacy panoramas are best converted to JPG or PNG.

Unfortunately, because .UVR is a closed, proprietary format across all its uses, third-party conversion is rarely seamless and often only the original software can properly read or export the data. Standard online converters fail to process these files because they lack the specific proprietary libraries required to parse the binary or structured data. Just drag and drop your file to convert.guru to identify the format, view it, and convert it when possible. Our platform can inspect the raw file, showing text or internal content. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or extracting the data may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your UVR file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted UVRD, UDS, IXB, UPX and IXA files.

The UVR Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our UVR converter.
