About UVP files
The .UVP file format is primarily a project file created by Corel VideoStudio (formerly Ulead VideoStudio). It stores a video editing timeline, transition settings, and file paths to the original media. It does not contain actual video or audio data.
In completely different contexts, a .UVP file can also be a Virtual Pinball Backglass file for UltraDMD (using a Microsoft Compound file structure), a firmware update binary for ALI Corp and M-Vision satellite receivers, or an audio processor preset for Lake Controller software.
The main disadvantage of a .UVP video project is that it is proprietary and strictly dependent on local source files. If you move or delete the original video clips, the project breaks. Because it is a blueprint and not a media container, standard online converters cannot process it into an MP4 or AVI. Furthermore, the format requires an expensive, active installation of Corel VideoStudio to open or render.
To get a playable video, your best target format is MP4, but this requires rendering the timeline inside the original software. Other .UVP variants, like firmware or pinball assets, are closed binary formats that cannot be converted to standard documents.
Because multiple software programs use the exact same extension for completely different data types, this file format is difficult to open or convert. Standard tools fail because they expect a video stream. Our analysis can detect the underlying format - such as the Microsoft Compound structure in UltraDMD files - and help you determine exactly which type of .UVP file you possess.
Convert.Guru analyzes your UVP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
