The .txc file extension is notoriously fragmented, serving entirely different purposes depending on where you acquired it. Most commonly, it is a game character texture file used by Yuke's WWE video games or the Grand Theft Auto series. However, it is also frequently used for TX Text Control documents (developed by TX Text Control GmbH), automated sterilization cycle reports from Fedegari autoclaves, and even property appraisal reports generated by TecniTasa.
You usually need to convert a .txc file because these formats are highly proprietary and restrict access to your own data. Game textures are locked inside specific game engine archives, meaning standard image viewers cannot read them. TX Text Control documents often require the original developer components or a paid license to open natively. Similarly, Fedegari autoclave logs are closed industrial data formats meant only for regulatory auditing, making them incredibly difficult to share or analyze in modern tools like Microsoft Excel.
If you are working with game textures, the ideal conversion targets are standard PNG or JPG formats, though you will lose specific mipmap or alpha channel data required by the game engine. For proprietary text documents, converting to PDF or DOCX is heavily recommended for cross-platform compatibility.
