About LMA files

The .LMA file extension is highly fragmented and serves completely different purposes depending on its origin. Most commonly, it functions as a proprietary game character animation data file for Granado Espada, an MMORPG developed by IMC Games. Another frequent use case is as a digital math worksheet created by l-math software, which utilizes a standard ZIP compression container. Other niche variations include robotics education licenses for Intelitek RoboCell, mobile device management links by MG Tech, and UDF (User Defined Function) logic blocks for Siemens LOGO! automation hardware.

Handling .LMA files is notoriously difficult because they are closed, proprietary formats. The game animation files are permanently locked to the Granado Espada game engine. They cannot be natively imported into standard 3D animation suites like Blender or Autodesk Maya without specialized, community-built extraction scripts. License files and UDF scripts are similarly restricted, offering zero cross-compatibility and requiring expensive or specific legacy software to run. They are not supported by web browsers and present major roadblocks for users trying to extract raw data.

Because these files serve completely unrelated niches - from MMORPG skeletons to industrial PLC scripts - standard online converters fail to process them. They lack the decoders to parse custom 3D engines or automated logic. However, the l-math worksheets are technically renamed ZIP archives, meaning you can extract their underlying XML data or images. Even if standard conversion to FBX or standard documents fails due to proprietary encryption, our internal analysis can often detect supported underlying embedded formats (like the ZIP container in math worksheets), allowing you to bypass the restrictive extension and recover your data.

Convert.Guru analyzes your LMA file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The LMA Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LMA converter.
