Extract text from LMA files
To convert your LMA file to another format, you need Granado Espada or other Game software.
To convert other file formats to the "Animation Data" file type, you need software like Granado Espada or a similar tool.
If you have an .LMA file, you are likely dealing with one of two distinct proprietary formats that are notoriously difficult to use outside their native environments.
1. Granado Espada Animation Data:
The most common use (approx. 46%) is within the MMORPG Granado Espada. These files store character motion and animation sequences. The primary disadvantage here is proprietary lock-in; the files are binary-encoded specifically for the game's engine. You cannot open them in standard 3D software like Blender or Autodesk Maya directly. Modders and archivists often struggle with this format because it requires specialized unpackers to extract usable data (often to OBJ or FBX) for rendering or editing.
2. L-Math Digital Worksheet:
The second common variation (approx. 26%) is a digital math worksheet created by L-Math software. While great for interactive learning, these files create friction when sharing with students or parents who do not have the software installed. The file itself is often a renamed ZIP container holding XML data and images.
Recommendation:
For L-Math users, the best workflow is converting these files to PDF or standard image formats (JPG/PNG) to ensure the worksheet can be printed or viewed on any device, including mobile phones. For Granado Espada files, casual users are generally out of luck without specific modding tools, as the format is not designed for consumer conversion.
