About TWC files
The .TWC file extension represents two distinct formats often found in enterprise environments. The most common (approx. 85%) is an Application Cache file generated by The Welkin Suite, a specialized IDE for Salesforce development. These files store temporary project data to speed up loading times but can grow significantly, often exceeding hundreds of megabytes. Because they are proprietary binary caches, they are not designed to be opened or converted; users typically encounter them when clearing disk space.
The second, more actionable format (approx. 1%) is the TTWin Configuration File used by Turbosoft TTWin, a terminal emulation program. These files contain critical host connection settings, keyboard mappings, and display preferences. Users frequently need to convert these .TWC files to human-readable TXT or PDF formats to document server configurations, migrate settings to new machines, or audit security protocols without launching the legacy software. A major problem is that .TWC files are often version-locked, meaning a file created in TTWin 4 may not open in newer versions without conversion.
Convert.Guru analyzes your TWC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert TWC file to INI, CFG, CONF, CONFIG, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, ENV, PROPERTIES or RC, you can use The Welkin Suite or similar software from the "Configuration & Cache Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert ZSHRC, CONF, RCFILE, GITCONFIG, RC, PLIST, BASHRC, CONFIG, PROFILE, INI, PREFS or CFG files to TWC, try The Welkin Suite or another comparable tool in the "Configuration & Cache Storage" category.
The TWC Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our TWC converter.
