About TQD files

A .TQD file primarily functions as a DJ software track metadata or analysis data file. It is heavily utilized by industry-standard DJ applications, specifically rekordbox by Pioneer DJ and Traktor Pro by Native Instruments. These files store critical mixing data, including track queues, beat grids, cue points, and playlist configurations. Additionally, about 25% of .TQD files act as controller display configuration files for industrial systems like Eurotherm iTools and Trend Control Systems.

The major disadvantage of the .TQD format is its proprietary, closed-system nature. You cannot open these files in standard text editors or web browsers. DJ software ecosystems are notoriously walled gardens; migrating a track library or queue from Traktor to rekordbox often fails because the embedded data is software-specific. If you do not have a paid software license or a specific hardware controller, the file is practically useless on a standard operating system.

To share track lists or configurations, you usually need to convert this data into standard formats like XML, CSV, or plain TXT. However, standard online converters fail to process .TQD because it lacks a unified public specification. The internal binary structures block generic conversion tools. Often, only the original DJ software or industrial controller software can properly read or export the exact data without losing beat grid precision or cue markers.

Despite these severe limitations, convert.guru is the pragmatic workaround. Just drag and drop your file to identify the format, view it, and convert it when possible. Our system will inspect the internal structure. If our analysis detects a supported underlying text or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible. We help you extract readable text or XML tags from the file when traditional methods hit a dead end.

Convert.Guru analyzes your TQD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted ALE, AVB and SCO files.

The TQD Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our TQD converter.
