About TF2 files
The .TF2 file extension is a proprietary binary data format created by TimeMark Inc. for their line of automatic traffic counters (such as the Gamma and Delta series). These files contain raw "Traffic Study" data, including vehicle volume, speed classification, axle spacing, and gap data collected from road sensors.
Because .TF2 files are binary and proprietary, they cannot be opened directly in Microsoft Excel, Notepad, or standard text editors. They are designed exclusively for TimeMark VIAS, the specific analysis software used to process the raw counter data. Users typically encounter friction when trying to share this data with clients or engineering teams who do not have access to the paid, Windows-only VIAS environment. To make the data usable for reporting or further analysis, the file must be processed and exported to open formats like CSV (for spreadsheets), XLSX (for Excel), or PDF (for finalized traffic reports).
Convert.Guru analyzes your TF2 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert TF2 file to EXE, ISO, BIN, CUE, PAK, WAD, PK3, PK4, BSP, MAP, SAV or DAT, you can use TimeMark VIAS or similar software from the "Traffic Counter Data Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MOD, BIN, CFG, SCX, DAT, MPQ, LOG, CUE, INI, EXE, SCM or ISO files to TF2, try TimeMark VIAS or another comparable tool in the "Traffic Counter Data Storage" category.
The TF2 Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our TF2 converter.
