The .T2K extension is a classic example of a filename collision, utilized by three distinct software ecosystems, creating significant confusion for users trying to open or convert them.
First and most commonly, it serves as a Software License Key or Soundbank for Tone2 Audiosoftware products like ElectraX, Gladiator, or Saurus. These are proprietary, encrypted binary files designed solely to authorize software or load synthesizer presets. A major source of friction here is that users attempt to "open" these keys in a text editor or media player, resulting in garbled code or errors.
