About STUDIO files
A .studio file is primarily used either as a digital design project file by InVision Studio or as an electronic cutter design file by Silhouette America. InVision files function as compressed archives containing UI layouts and assets, while Silhouette files store precision vector paths for cutting machines. Natively, you can open these files using InVision Studio or Silhouette Studio. However, the format presents massive real-world challenges. InVision shut down its design services, making legacy files extremely difficult to access without the original, discontinued software. Meanwhile, Silhouette heavily restricts its ecosystem; their free software tier explicitly blocks exporting to standard vector formats, requiring a paid 'Business Edition' upgrade just to share your own work. Both versions of the .studio file are highly proprietary, unreadable by web browsers, and unsupported by professional tools like Adobe Illustrator. To regain control of your designs, conversion is mandatory. For web use or cross-platform editing in other vector software, convert .studio files to SVG. For archiving or sharing with clients for review, convert to PDF. If you only need a quick visual preview, export to PNG. Note that interactive UI prototypes from InVision will lose animation data upon conversion.
Convert.Guru analyzes your STUDIO file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert STUDIO file to SVG, PNG, INDD, QXP, PUB, PMD, PM6, PM7, PM8, PM9, PM10 or PM11, you can use InVision or similar software from the "Proprietary Design Project File" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

The STUDIO Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our STUDIO converter.
