Extract text from Hardware log files (SLG)

The .SLG file extension is a highly fragmented format primarily used to store chronological data logs, telemetry, and graphs. It is generated by a wide variety of hardware devices and specialized software. Common uses include temperature and humidity records from LogTag or Lascar Electronics EasyLog devices, scuba diving profiles from UWATEC SmartTRAK or Suunto dive computers (often utilizing a JetDB internal structure), and waveform data from Siglent digital oscilloscopes. It is also used by SedLog for sedimentary data and Bentley STAAD.Pro for structural analysis view states.
The major disadvantage of the .SLG format is its extreme lack of standardization. An .SLG file from a dive computer is completely incompatible with an .SLG file from an oscilloscope. They are strictly proprietary, meaning you are locked into using the specific manufacturer's software to open them. If you lose access to the original software or switch to a Mac or Linux operating system, the data becomes unreadable. They cannot be opened directly in standard spreadsheet applications or web browsers.
To overcome these vendor lock-ins, conversion is usually required. For data analysis and editing, convert to CSV or TXT so the data can be parsed in Microsoft Excel or standard text editors.
