About SI files
The .SI extension is most frequently associated with the Standard Import Export (SIE) format, a pivotal open standard for transferring accounting data between different software packages in Sweden. While highly effective for interoperability between platforms like Visma and Fortnox, raw .SI files are plain text databases that are difficult to interpret without specialized financial parsers. They do not open natively in spreadsheet applications like Microsoft Excel, leaving users unable to easily visualize balances or transaction histories. To analyze this data, users should convert .SI files to CSV or XLSX formats. For archiving or sharing financial snapshots, converting to PDF is recommended.
Alternatively, a .SI file may be a legacy Softimage image file (now owned by Autodesk), a system configuration file for Grandstream VoIP devices, or a search index segment used by Apache Lucene. These proprietary or binary formats often require specific, outdated, or command-line tools to view. Converting Softimage graphics to modern standards like JPG, PNG, or TIFF ensures long-term accessibility after the software's discontinuation.
Use Convert.Guru to open and convert your SI file.
Users also converted KOM, SII, PD, PDF, CRYPT14, ZIP, TORRENT, XAPK, DCX, PI2, CAL, CI and SF files.
The SI Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our SI converter.
